James Overbury joined the Town Council as a part time Deputy Clerk in 2018. He recently qualified for the Certificate in Local Council Administration, and was appointed full time as the Town Clerk in December 2022.

James has lived in or around Framlingham since 1972 and went to school in the town. Married to Christine, he has two children who are both at the local schools. He has had an interesting life working as a photographer, motorcycle racer, brewer for the Earl Soham Brewery, miller, and ran a local charity for 20 years. He enjoys walking the family dog, Lola, and competing in two sports: one which requires sitting down and the other lying down.
