Get Involved

There are many ways you can become involved in the work of the Framlingham Town Council. Helping on specific events and activities, joining a working group, offering your expert advice, or offering services which help us to achieve our aims.

Volunteering or Becoming a Town Councillor

Volunteers also help on practical matters, such as planting and watering flower tubs, speed watch recorders, or gritting areas of the town in winter. We often need more people to help, whether it is for just occasional assistance for an event, or to help develop plans and carry out research.

Volunteers sometimes then become Councillors themselves - a voluntary role which can be very rewarding by giving something back to the community, and be involved in making decisions on important issues which directly affect the town.

You may be wondering if you could become a councillor and serve the community in this way. The answer is probably yes, although you will need to wait until there is a vacancy! Whilst there are certain regulations which have to be abided by, you do not need any qualifications, except an interest in what happens in the town and the time to attend meetings and other occasional activities - councillors often work voluntarily on projects which are currently in hand.

If you are interested becoming involved in any way please contact us to let us know of your interest at: dtc@framlingham.com

We have a Volunteer Skills Form which you can fill in and send to the Town Clerk to let us know what kind of activities and skills you are interested in:
